Workplace Panel survey is

The workplace panel survey is a national statistics (approval number 336003) conducted by the Korea Labor Institute, a government-funded policy research institute under the Office of the Prime Minister. A pilot survey was completed from 2002 to 2004, and a new sample was formed targeting 1,700 workplaces sampled to represent Korean companies using the stratified random sampling method.  From 2005, the workplace panel survey was conducted every 2 years. Since 2015, about 3,400 samples, including samples from previous panel surveys, have been constructed to compensate for the representativeness problem caused by continuous sample attrition during the previous survey.

What are the objectives of the Workplace Panel Survey

The purpose of the workplace panel survey is to systematically assess the employment structure,  labor demand, human resources management system and employment relations in Korea. Through a follow-up survey, changes in employment, human resource management are identified. Using the survey, technological changes, human resource management strategies, and changes in employment relations can be analyzed. The survey also aims at enhancing the effectiveness of employment and human resources development policies of the government.

How can the data of the WPS be accessed?

How can the data of the WPS be accessed?The results of the Workplace Panel Survey can be accessed through the database via a dedicated website(www.kli.re.kr/wps_eng). You can download data for free after filling out a simple register form. The data can be downloaded as well as used in various formats(SAS, SPSS, STAT).
