Purpose
- Korea Labor Institute (KLI) has been actively conducting research about low birth rates and the labor market, particularly focusing on the correlation among an individual's work, childbirth, and family choices, the unique characteristics of the Korean labor market, challenges in making childbirth decisions within this context, and the macro-level relationship between childbirth and income. Based on this research, it has formulated policy recommendations that consider the interplay between labor market dynamics and family formation. Given mounting social concerns about low birth rates, KLI plans to open up discussions about ways to make it easy for people to choose between work and childbirth.
