Summary
Who are workers in special types of employment? There remain many unresolved debates regarding the worker’s status as employed workers in special types of employment as well as ongoing discussions on legal protection measures for such workers, but there have been limitations in understanding the specifics such as the number, age distribution, or regional distribution of workers in special types of employment. This Brief takes a differentiated approach toward estimating the number of workers in special types of employment compared to existing study methodology. Analysis found that there are 1,660,000 persons in special types of employment and 550,000 persons in new types of employment. This result is expected to bring about more effective protection measures for workers in special types of employment in the future.
