    Global Outsourcing and Job Security


    Global outsourcing comes with the overseas relocation of production process. Therefore, the inflow of services or materials that are used in the production of intermediate and final goods affects the productivity and jobs in a country. Especially, the effect of global outsourcing on jobs and employment is theoretically unclear; contrasting effects exist. Therefore, this issue has drawn much attention and sparked a heated debate. This paper conducted an empirical research on the impact of global outsourcing on individual job security in Korea using domestic data (2005-2011 “Korean Labor and Income Panel Study (KLIPS)” and “Input-Output Tables”).
