Summary
■ In January 2019, there were 186,000 individuals newly looking for a job and 457,000 jobs newly open for recruitment at the average offered wage of 2,001,000 KRW and the average desired wage of 2,078,000 KRW. The overall wage satisfaction rate was 96.3%.
■ Wage satisfaction rate by employment type was the highest at 103.1% for ‘day workers’ and the lowest at 50.5% for ‘employment contracts with no defined duration (part-time jobs)’.
■ The job with the highest wage satisfaction rate was ‘janitors and other personal service related jobs’ at 111.4%, followed by ‘guards,’ ‘healthcare•medical jobs,’ ‘printing•lumber•handicraft and other installation•repair•manufacturing jobs,’ and ‘simple manufacturing jobs.’
■ The job with the lowest wage satisfaction rate was ‘construction•mining jobs’ at 75.5%, followed by ‘education related jobs,’ ‘caregiving service jobs (nursing•childcare),’ ‘metal•material installation•repair•manufacturing jobs,’ and ‘construction•mining R&D and engineering related jobs.’
