    1. Wage Trends in September to October Based on Worknet Recruitment DB

    2. Case Study: Wage Structure Reform

    ■ There were 213,000 new job openings and 340,000 new jobs seekers in October 2018. The average offered wage was 1.948 million won, reservation wage 1.995 million won, with overall wage fulfillment rate of 97.7%.

    ■ By employment type, wage fulfillment rate was the highest in “work contract with no fixed term” at 100.3% and the lowest in “work contract with fixed term (part-time).” The low fulfillment rate in part-time employment is due to the low offered wage in October in this job type.

    ■ Distribution of offered wage by employment type in October is as follows. Monthly pay of 1.5-2 million won had the highest share among “work contract with no fixed term” and “work contract with fixed-term.” In both types, there was a significant reduction in job openings at 1.3-1.5 million won year-on-year, while those at 1.5-2 million won significantly increased.

    - Most employers are offering low wage for part-time employment type.
